View Profile View Posts. Same here, I bought the game last Dec and it keeps running into errors I clean installed the game 4 times but no success. Okay so after some really tricky stuff i got the game working. PC will now restart in selective startup mode. Check the steam box on system services and start ESO via steam and deselect admin rights from the steam launcher from zenimax folder if you granted them as suggested on many answers.
Now the launcher starts to update the game and will do so on several occasions. Let it complete and then you can launch the game. Hope this helps if you have similar issues to mine.

What you can try is disabling your antivirus or adding an exception for ESO. Avast is known to block certain files necessary for the game, as are a few other over zealous anti virus programs. Also depending on your country your ISP may be blocking the file themselves. Whether or not you use Steam or the version found on the official ESO store you can still contact the Zenimax customer service line to assist you if need be.
